Staunton City Schools, located in historic Staunton, Virginia in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley, is seeking highly qualified applicants for a High School Principal at Robert E. Lee High School for the 2017-18 school year.
SALARY RANGE: Salary commensurate with experience

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
Position is responsible for the daily operation and administration of the division’s comprehensive high school. The principal is expected to:
- Lead by establishing and fostering a culture for continuous improvement in a diverse school setting;
- Focus all efforts to promote student achievement, advancement and youth development;
- Inspire students, staff, families and the community to set goals and achieve excellence-instill a sense of pride in all that is done;
- Develop staff to promote employee expertise which supports a strong instructional environment as well as co-curricular and extra-curricular programs;
- Develop strong relationships within the Staunton business community to expand partnerships that are mutually beneficial;
- Communicate the mission and vision of the school effectively using multiple channels;
- Demonstrate the highest levels of integrity;
- Know and actively pursue educational best practices;
- Create opportunities for strengthening alumni relations and;
- Monitor all programs and initiatives by implementing a system to determine performance and progress.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must hold a Postgraduate Professional License with endorsement in Administrative Leadership PreK-12 or equivalent endorsement, plus three years of secondary school level teaching and leadership/supervisory experience, or equivalent experience. Administrative experience in a high school with a diverse population is preferred.
